Plan your perfect cruise with Whistling Man.
NO SAILING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
Our ships are crewed by a licensed captain and a deckhand, so don't worry if you don't know how to sail. If you'd like to be more participatory, our crew would be happy to show you the ropes and, depending on the lake conditions, the captain may let you steer. |
FOOD & DRINKS
Our cruises are BYO food and drinks. We have serveware, glassware, and a cold ice box on board for your use. We recommend finger foods like sandwiches, cheese boards, etc. in lieu of items you'd need silverware for. |
THE WEATHER
Not every day is great for sailing. We do not sail in rain, thunderstorms, or dangerous conditions. If we have to cancel your cruise due to the weather, we will issue you a full refund or you can reschedule to a different cruise. |
ITINERARY
We don't have a set course, but there is so much to explore including sunken shipwrecks, historic battle sites, islands, and miles of gorgeous Lake Champlain shoreline. |
YOUNG CHILDREN
Kids of any age welcome on private charters. Kids under 13 years old must wear a life jacket. Kids under 13 are not permitted on public sunset cruises and kids under 5 are not allowed on public cruises. |
PETS
Well-behaved dogs are allowed on private charters only. Please let us know ahead of time if you plan on bringing a pet. |
STAYING WARM
If you're sailing in May, June, September, or October, it's a good idea to bring extra layers. It's usually cooler on the water than it is on shore and we want to make sure you're comfortable. We do have extra fleeces and blankets on board for you if necessary. |
ACCESIBILITY
Our ships sit at the same level as the dock, with a step into the seating area that is about one foot down. Please let us know if you would like more information, or if you think this could be prohibitive for you. We can take extra steps to make sure the boarding process is comfortable and safe for you. |
FACILITIES
There is a small marine "head" on board both boats. It is fairly rudimentary and is down a steep ladder, so it can be difficult to access if you are less agile. We advise guests to use the onshore facilities prior to boarding. |
